T-LD’s Private Track Day – Part 1

To kick-start the Easter long weekend, THE-LOWDOWN hosted a private track day at Wakefield Park Raceway.

Unfortunately, not all was peachy and disastrous mishaps occurred right from the beginning.  Heasman Steering/Bilstein’s S14 suffered with a shattered windscreen and mangled bonnet on their first warm up lap.  Being a public holiday, there wasn’t anyone available to come out to replace the windscreen right away, so their day was cut very short.

There were a wide array of cars, from sponsored builds to standard-looking privateer’s rides including this very clean and stock looking EVO 6.5, clocking a best of 1:08 throughout the day.

Arguably the loudest and meanest car of the day, JDMYard’s DC5 loved to three-wheel around the fish hook.  The boys ended up with the fastest time of the day with a 1:01.

Ghassan debuted his EG B18 turbo, recently built by James Ison of Ison Industries.  It was Ghassan’s first time on the circuit with his newly built car, lapping a time of 1:12.

Dominic of Garage88 took to the track with his WAN94N R33, testing his new brake setup that is still under development as we speak.

Although Heasman Steering’s S14 was out for the day, this didn’t stop the boys from making the most of their track time by taking out their Fiat 500 out to chase the timer.

Couple of issues arose from several other cars throughout the day, leaving no option but to retire from the tracks early.
